Well actually, can you believe it’s February already? We hope you had a fun and refreshing holiday period and you’re ready for a fantastic 2025. We have continued our Easy & Beautiful Summer through January, improving and polishing the core CareApp experience.
Before we get into the latest changes, some house keeping:
Database Maintenance: 12/02/2025
On Wednesday night, 12 February, we will be performing some recommended maintenance on our backend services. This will include some upgrades to CareApp’s main database and caching servers. We expect the update process will cause up to 30 minutes downtime where CareApp is unavailable. We will be performing the updates from 11pm Australian Central Summer Time to minimise impact on our users. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
Ending support for CareApp Mobile 2.x
We will be ending support for versions of CareApp Mobile older than 3.0 at the end of February. From March, you must be using CareApp 3.0 or newer on your mobile phone or tablet. CareApp Mobile 3.0 was released all the way back in June 2023. Of course, we recommend having automatic updates turned on so you are always using the latest version of the app.
You can find the version you are using by opening the Menu, going to Settings, and then tapping About. Newer versions of CareApp also tell you the version on the Sign In screen. If you use CareApp on the web you have nothing to worry about, because web is always the latest version. If you have any questions or concerns please get in contact with us.
Easy & Beautiful Updates
With the house keeping done, here is what has changed so far this year.
General Improvements
- We have made sure Family Representatives are shown as Representatives throughout CareApp
- We have improved sorting customer profiles by most recent activity
- We have made improvements to our API response time and will continue to identify further ways of speeding up the CareApp API.
Web Improvements
- Improvements to the account recovery experience
- Fixed an issue when posting notices with attachments that were still uploading
- Fixed an issue where profile image changes were not appearing immediately
- Fixed a couple of issues with our side menu
- Made sure our screen names were being used consistently throughout the app
- Add the ability to set image permissions when creating a new customer profile
- Fixed some font size/weight issues when using CareApp in Safari
- Updated to the latest version of the framework and dependencies CareApp is built with
- Improvements to Messaging
- Improved the Edit Post screen
Mobile Improvements
- We now make it easier to know when there’s an update to the mobile app
- We have fixed an issue where users were sometimes blank when viewing the history of a notice
- We have made further improvements to scrolling through the feed
- We have fixed an issue that prevented some people from accepting invitations on mobile
